وتقول الآية الكريمة “يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُونُوا قَوَّامِينَ بِالْقِسْطِ شُهَدَاءَ لِلَّهِ وَلَوْ عَلَىٰ أَنْفُسِكُمْ أَوِ الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَالْأَقْرَبِينَ ۚ إِنْ يَكُنْ غَنِيًّا أَوْ فَقِيرًا فَاللَّهُ أَوْلَىٰ بِهِمَا ۖ فَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا الْهَوَىٰ أَنْ تَعْدِلُوا ۚ وَإِنْ تَلْوُوا أَوْ تُعْرِضُوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًا”.
ووضعت الجامعة الآية القرآنية مترجمة إلى الإنجليزية، على بوابة مكتبها في كلية القانون، ووفق الموقع الإلكتروني لكلية القانون بالجامعة، فإن السورة بحسب اسمها، تتعامل بشكل أساسي مع التزامات ومسؤوليات المرأة في المجتمع الإسلامي، لكنها تتناول أيضًا الميراث والزواج، وأهمية الصدق في الشهادة،لكن الجامعة لم تصنف القرآن كأفضل كتاب للعدالة كما تتحدث الأنباء المتداولة على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي.
وسورة النساء هي سورة مدنية، وهي من السبع الطوال إذ تبلغ عدد آياتها 176 آية وهي الرابعة من حيث الترتيب في المصحف، وركزت على أحكام المواريث وهي مليئة بالأحكام التشريعية التي تنظم شؤون المجتمع خاصة المرأة والأسرة.
